Happening during the Youth Day school holiday, the P1P2 Little Chocolate Connoisseurs programme is a fun and enriching learning experience that combines chocolate-making with engaging English and Mathematics activities for Primary 1 and 2 students.

Through an excursion to Mr Bucket Chocolaterie for a lesson and workshop, this programme, held from 9.00am to 1.30pm, nurtures creativity, curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the art of chocolate-making.

Students may also opt to stay on for the P1P2 Our Feathered Friends programme for a full-day immersive learning experience.

Course Outline

The P1P2 Little Chocolate Connoisseur special programme blends a hands-on chocolate workshop with specially designed chocolate-themed lessons that reinforce key literacy and numeracy concepts, offering an immersive chocolatier and connoisseur experience for Primary 1 and Primary 2 students.

Students will begin the day by gathering at The Learning Lab (United Square centre) before heading to Mr Bucket Chocolaterie for their excursion. At the chocolaterie, students will participate in engaging English and Mathematics lessons that reinforce key Primary 1 and Primary 2 concepts. They will also enjoy a hands-on chocolate workshop led by a professional chocolatier, where they will learn more about the art and science of chocolate-making.

After the workshop, students will enjoy a catered lunch at the chocolaterie before boarding the bus back to The Learning Lab (United Square centre) for dismissal.

This programme offers students a meaningful opportunity to learn through real-world experiences while fostering creativity, curiosity and collaboration in a memorable setting.

Programme Schedule

9:00am: Gather at The Learning Lab (United Square centre)
9:30am – 12:15pm: Chocolate-themed English and Mathematics lessons, followed by a chocolate workshop
12:15pm – 1:00pm: Catered lunch at the chocolaterie
1:00pm – 1:30pm: Return transport to The Learning Lab (United Square centre) for dismissal

At the chocolaterie, students will:

  • Learn Primary 1–2 literacy and numeracy concepts
  • Discover where chocolate comes from and learn about the chocolate-making process
  • Participate in a cocoa bean and chocolate taste-testing session
  • Explore different chocolate flavours and textures
  • Design and create their very own personalised chocolate bar

Who can join this programme?

We welcome all Primary 1 and Primary 2 students in 2026 to attend this programme. If your child is older but interested in attending, please email us for assistance.


Tell me more about the chocolates used in this workshop.

The chocolates used in this workshop do not contain gelatin. However, this workshop is not suitable for students with nut or dairy allergies and/or sensitivities.

Will the students be separated by level?

Depending on the total headcount, students will largely be grouped according to their levels.


How will the workshop be conducted?

The workshop will be conducted by experienced facilitators from Mr Bucket Chocolaterie, ensuring a safe and guided hands-on experience for every student.

Is lunch included in this programme?

Yes, catered lunch will be provided for students at the chocolaterie. Please write to us if your child has any allergies and/or sensitivities.

What are the transportation arrangements for this programme?

Students are expected to report to The Learning Lab (United Square centre) at 9:00am and will be dismissed from the centre at 1:30pm. For alternative drop-off or pick-up arrangements, please email us for assistance.
