Programme Overview

The Intensive Revision (June) Series aims to reinforce students’ mastery of topics while strengthening their skills in preparation for the O-Level examination.

The English programme introduces TLL’s in-house methods for the various components of the English paper and equips students with effective examination strategies and techniques. The Mathematics programme strengthens their understanding of key topics, allowing them to practise a variety of question types. The Science programme reinforces students’ grasp of concepts from topics taught in the current year, while supporting the revision of past-year topics.

Is this programme targeted at mainstream or IP students?

The English programmes are designed for mainstream students sitting for the O-Level examinations. IP students may still benefit from the skills taught, but please note that the English programmes do not cover A-Level sections.

The Mathematics programmes are designed for mainstream students sitting for the GCE O-Level examinations. For IP students, the programme can still be useful as it supports preparation for the GCE A-Level examinations through the development of key skills and concepts.

The Science programmes are suitable for all Secondary 4 students taking pure sciences from both mainstream and IP schools, as they are topic-focused. They can serve as intensive revision for students who have already covered the topics.

Will the Sec 4 English Intensive Revision cover all parts of Paper 1, Paper 2, Paper 3 and Paper 4?

No. Part 1 of Intensive Revision for Sec 4 will cover:

Paper 1 (Writing): editing and essay writing
Paper 2 (Reading Comprehension): focusing on narrative text

Will there be any homework?

There will be no homework. Students will be given time to attempt most questions during classwork. Any remaining questions can be completed at home, with answers checked against the answer keys provided.

Will the worksheets be marked?

For English, components such as composition writing will be collected for marking. For other components and subjects, teachers will review answers in class. Due to the intensive nature of the programme, there is a greater focus on teaching content, question analysis and answering methods and techniques. Answer keys are provided for reference after the programme ends. This differs from our regular classes, where answer keys are not typically provided.

If I cannot make it for some sessions of the programme, can I still sign up? Do the sessions cover related content?

My child already attends the Secondary 4 core programme. How will this be useful?

The Sec 4 Intensive Revision Programme focuses on sections and topics that we have identified as important for helping students perform well in examinations. Students can use this opportunity to consolidate their learning and revise areas they are less familiar with. The programme also provides additional practice.
