Programme Overview

The Power Boost Programme is designed to prepare students for examination success. Using a test-teach-reflect approach, lessons incorporate quizzes and practices that allow students to retrieve knowledge, identify learning gaps and receive immediate feedback on their work.

Lessons are also structured with consolidation and self-reflection exercises at the end of each session to nurture students’ self-awareness and confidence. Through this process, students are encouraged to reflect on what they have learnt and develop greater confidence in the subject.

Key examination success criteria will also be covered, including what examiners look out for in students’ responses, particularly for open-ended components. Students will also learn exam-smart strategies such as time management, checking and editing techniques, as well as effective revision habits.

This programme is available in two formats:
• Online programme: 12 × 1-hour sessions
• In-person programme: 6 × 2-hour sessions

Both formats are designed to suit different learning preferences.

Frequently Asked Questions

About P6 Power Boost Programme (Online) Series

How is Power Boost different from the P6 core English/Mathematics/Science programmes for existing TLL students?

Power Boost lessons are conducted differently from our regular core curriculum lessons. They adopt a test-teach-reflect approach, where students practise knowledge retrieval, identify learning gaps and receive immediate feedback on their work.

Lessons also include consolidation and self-reflection exercises at the end of each session to nurture students’ self-awareness and confidence. Through this process, students are encouraged to reflect on what they have learnt and develop greater confidence in the subject.

How is Power Boost different from the Intensive Revision Programmes in June and September?

The topics and practices covered in Power Boost differ from those covered in the Intensive Revision (English/Mathematics/Science) programmes held in June and September.

Power Boost is a longer programme that dives deeper into selected topics and components, giving students more time to reflect on their performance and strengthen their understanding. In contrast, Intensive Revision is a shorter programme designed to provide a quick review of selected examination topics and components.

For English Power Boost, each lesson focuses on a specific examination component (e.g. Reading Comprehension) that students will encounter in the PSLE. In addition to revising key concepts, students will learn strategies to avoid common mistakes, reflect on their performance and receive personalised feedback to support improvement. Intensive Revision, on the other hand, covers a broader range of components and primarily serves as additional practice.

For Mathematics Power Boost, lessons are skill-based, helping students apply transferable skills across multiple topics. For example, spatial visualisation skills may be applied across topics such as Volume, Geometry, and Area and Perimeter. Intensive Revision programmes, however, are more topical in nature.

For Science Power Boost, each lesson focuses on key topics that students commonly struggle with. Intensive Revision programmes are designed more as crash courses, with the June programme focusing on Interactions and Systems, and the September programme focusing on Cycles.

Is this programme only for TLL students taking the same subject at TLL?

No. This programme is open to all Primary 6 students, including both TLL and non-TLL students. Students do not need to be enrolled with us to sign up.

How will students receive their worksheets?

Students registered for the in-person programme will receive their worksheets during class.

For students registered for the online programme, worksheets will be provided in two ways:
• Downloadable through our learning management system, TLL.360.
• Available for collection from our front desks at selected centres every four weeks. Please refer to the icon located below the selected programme checkbox to view the Worksheet Collection Schedule (Online Programme).

Will the worksheets be marked?

Students are required to submit their worksheets through TLL.360 for marking by the teachers.

Will there be homework after each lesson?

Homework may be assigned based on the teacher’s assessment of each student’s learning needs.

Will lesson recordings be available after the lessons?

For students registered for the online programme, lesson recordings will be available for viewing for up to 14 days after each lesson.

Can my child attend both the online and in-person Power Boost lessons?

The online and in-person programmes are conducted separately. Students may only attend lessons in the format they have registered for.
