The Writing to Engage and Excite programme focuses on honing students' writing skills. By applying the literary techniques and devices taught to their writing, students will not only gain an edge, but also develop greater appreciation for the language.
Course Outline
In the Writing to Engage and Excite programme, students will learn the essential skills to become more advanced and sophisticated writers.
Through vivid and exam-relevant examples, students will better understand how to apply a variety of intermediate literary techniques and devices to their writing. Students will also learn how to think critically, developing the ability to analyse and critique a piece of writing and then improve upon it. In addition, they will also be introduced to The Learning Lab's unique in-house brainstorming methods, which help writers develop interesting plots that capture and hold a reader's attention.
By learning how to apply these skills appropriately, students will not only gain an edge but also develop a greater appreciation for the language itself.
