Journey to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and have Science concepts to life through a learning experience that travels from the TLL classroom to the mangroves. Through this learning journey conducted by our partners, Young Nautilus, students will learn first-hand about adaptations, food webs and the hidden wonders of the mangroves.

Your child should be enrolled in this academic level in 2027.

Course Outline

Through a guided learning journey conducted by Young Nautilus, students will observe how plants and animals have developed remarkable adaptations to survive in the mangroves. From mudskippers and tree-climbing crabs to monitor lizards and magnificent coastal birds, students will observe biodiversity up close and uncover the fascinating food chains and food webs connecting these organisms.

Students will also have a classroom segment to introduce them to the Science concepts covered during the Sungei Buloh walkabout and offer them the chance to handle and observe artifacts like a crocodile skull and taxidermised turtle up close.

Designed to complement the MOE Upper Primary Science curriculum, this immersive experience strengthens students' understanding of adaptations, environmental interactions and conservation, while developing their scientific observation and inquiry skills.

Course Highlights

Students will gather in The Learning Lab (United Square) for a classroom introduction to the mangroves before travelling to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve for the learning journey. Students will conclude their lesson back in The Learning Lab (United Square), where they will be dismissed.
