Programme Overview

Sharpen your child’s writing skills with this intensive writing programme that features a full writing exercise every alternate week.

Designed to give your child the opportunity to hone his or her writing skills, this programme also includes composition review lessons where teachers provide personalised feedback on your child’s essays to support improvement. Key exam skills such as time management, idea generation, writing techniques and vocabulary will also be covered through composition questions and scaffolded responses, including model essays.

Programme Focus

This programme is ideal for students who would like more composition writing practice to strengthen their writing skills. Students will work on a composition every two weeks and receive detailed, personalised feedback on their writing.

Course Outline

This 8-week programme alternates between composition writing lessons and review lessons. During the writing lessons, students will attempt a full composition. Each composition lesson is then followed by a review lesson, where teachers will go through the previous week’s composition and guide students in editing and refining their essays.

About P5 Intensive Writing Programme 1

How will this programme prepare my child for their Weighted Assessments and the PSLE?

This programme provides students with additional composition writing practice to help them strengthen their writing skills for their Weighted Assessments and the PSLE. Students will complete a composition every alternate week and receive personalised feedback from their teachers to support their improvement. They will also receive model essays to review effective writing techniques and identify key elements they can apply in their own writing.

What is the class size?

Our classes are kept small, with a maximum of 10 students, to ensure individual attention.


How often will my child be expected to write compositions?

Your child will complete a full composition every alternate week, starting from Week 1. This regular practice helps students develop writing fluency and confidence over time.

My child signed up for this programme earlier this year. Can he/she attend again?

Students who have previously attended this programme are not encouraged to attend again, as the materials will be repeated.This rerun is intended for students who missed the first run of our Intensive Writing Programme 1.
