Programme Focus

This programme focuses on developing critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and advanced language and mathematical abilities. Through targeted practice, exposure to commonly tested question types and step-by-step guidance, students will deepen their understanding of complex concepts and learn how to approach challenging problems with confidence.

Course Outline

For English, Primary 3 students will strengthen their reading comprehension skills by analysing challenging comprehension passages and learning how to make inferences to answer higher-order questions. Cloze passages are designed to help students develop critical reading skills, expand their vocabulary and apply effective answering techniques to contextual questions and commonly tested collocations. Students will also gain exposure to vocabulary questions that assess subtle differences in meaning and usage, while engaging in word puzzles that sharpen logical reasoning and critical thinking skills.

For Mathematics, Primary 3 students will be exposed to a range of non-routine problems involving familiar concepts such as arithmetic, patterns and measurement. These higher-order questions are designed to strengthen logical reasoning and critical thinking skills. Students will also tackle topics that require strong visualisation skills and learn how to analyse complex questions and apply creative problem-solving strategies with accuracy and efficiency.

Frequently Asked Questions

About P3 High Ability Learners Workshop 3

What is the difference between this course and the programme held in June 2026? If my child attended the programme in June, can they attend it again?

Students who have attended the June 2026 P3 Higher Ability Learners Workshop 3 are not encouraged to attend the July 2026 P3 Higher Ability Learners Workshop 3, as the materials covered across both runs are similar.

Who can join this programme?

Students who are in Primary 3 in 2026 are welcome to join this programme.

Would you recommend this programme for children at this age?

We believe that early exposure and practice can be beneficial for students. This programme allows students who are keen to be stretched academically to gain exposure to higher-ability questions that develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

If my child is unable to attend some sessions, can we still sign up? Are the sessions linked?

Yes, you may still sign up for the programme. Each session is designed to be largely independent, so students can still benefit even if they miss a session. Worksheets and answer keys will also be provided for missed sessions.
