Programme Overview

Composition is a key component of success in the English examination.

Dive deep into the techniques required to excel in this component through our specialised Composition Excellence programme, designed to provide targeted instruction and intensive writing practice.

Programme Focus

This programme focuses on Paper 1 (Writing) of both school-based and national examinations, with a strong emphasis on continuous writing. Students will complete weekly writing exercises supplemented by skill-based composition modules designed to strengthen their writing techniques and narrative development.

Course Outline

In addition to plot planning, students will learn the different components of a narrative and what to include in each section. They will be guided on how to craft engaging introductions, develop compelling climaxes and write satisfying conclusions.

Students will also be provided with scaffolded responses for all writing exercises. Through guided analysis of these model responses, students will learn how literary techniques, plot development, vivid descriptions and precise language choices can be applied effectively in their own writing.
