Give your child an edge in the age of AI.

Your child is growing up in a world powered by AI. Everyone can use AI, but the real advantage lies in knowing how to use it well.

In AI & Me, students begin by demystifying AI, understanding what happens behind the screen, what AI can do, what it can’t and why it sometimes gets things confidently wrong. They’ll learn to communicate with AI across text, conversations and images, turning their own ideas into stronger prompts and better results.

Then, by Thinking Like an AI Detective, they’ll learn to question AI, uncover hallucinations and bias, fact-check what it tells them and develop the judgement to know when AI can help and when their own thinking needs to lead.

Course Outline

This 10-hour masterclass takes students aged 10 to 12 beyond simply using AI to understanding and mastering how to work with it.

Students explore how generative AI works, how it differs from traditional search, and how to communicate with AI through structured prompting for both text and images. They’ll also learn to recognise hallucinations and bias, fact-check AI outputs using the S.U.R.E. framework, and navigate privacy, copyright and responsible AI use.

In the final hackathon, students bring everything together to solve a real-world problem, using AI to research, brainstorm, create and refine their ideas before presenting their solution in Google Slides with an AI acknowledgement.

Thinking Like an AI Detective

Understand AI hallucinations and inaccurate information.
Apply the S.U.R.E. framework to fact-check AI outputs.
Identify personal information that should never be shared with AI.
Develop responsible, ethical AI habits (including privacy and copyright awareness).

Hackathon

Apply skills in AI text and image generation, as well as AI safety.
Use AI to research, brainstorm, create and refine ideas.
Solve a real-world problem creatively.
Present their work with an AI acknowledgement.
Reflect on AI’s strengths and limitations.

What is the average class size?

Our class have a maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:12. We keep our classes small so that every student benefits from maximum personalised attention.

What do students need to bring to class?

We provide all equipment for the classes. Students just need to bring stationery, water bottle and a jacket in case it gets cold.

What if a student misses a class? Is there a class replacement policy?

Unless absent for medical reasons, a communication lead time via email to specialprogrammes@thelearninglab.com.sg of at least two weeks is required prior to missing the class in order for arrangements for a replacement class to be made. Depending on the hours of lesson missed, you/your child may attend our replacement classes or have your/your child's registration transferred to the same course at another location / timing. Replacement classes may be held online or in-person at Coding Lab's campuses (KAP Mall / Parkway Parade).

Are there any pre-requisites for the coding classes?

Yes, it differs for each program. Do check the pre-requisites carefully before signing up.

What if a student has done a coding class previously? Can he or she still attend your coding class?

For classes with pre-requisites, the student may need to complete a placement test as we will need to assess his or her foundation level as the curriculum offered by other avenues may be different. We want to ensure that every student who comes to our class benefits and learn. Hence, it is vital that your child is enrolled in the right course to provide them with the right level of challenge.
