Programme Overview

For Ages 10 to 12

Is your child using AI to learn, or just to skip the thinking?

AI is no longer a future concept. From the AI Learning Assistant (LEA) in MOE Student Learning Space (SLS) to school projects on Google Docs and Slides, students are already interacting with artificial intelligence in their everyday learning.

In this course, students will learn how to use AI safely, responsibly, and effectively. Instead of treating AI as a shortcut for homework answers, they will discover how to use it as a brainstorming assistant, research helper, and productivity tool while keeping their own critical thinking sharp.

Why This Course is Different

Unlike most AI courses that rely on public chatbots, students learn within their secure MOE Google Workspace using Gemini. The AI skills they develop can be applied immediately to their school projects in Google Docs, Slides, and Vids.

Course Outline

Designed specially for Singapore MOE students, this 10-hour masterclass guides students to use Gemini within their secure Google Workspace for Education environment.

Students will learn how Generative AI works, how to write better prompts, how to fact-check AI responses, and how to protect their privacy online. They will also explore the difference between inspiration and plagiarism, learning how to use AI ethically in school projects.

The course culminates in a final “Green Canteen” presentation, where students use Google Slides or Google Vids to present a real-world Singapore problem while showing how they used AI responsibly.

Frequently Asked Questions

About P203 AI & Me: Using AI Effectively and Safely

What is the average class size?

Our classes have a maximum teacher-to-student ratio of 1:12. We keep class sizes small so that every student can benefit from personalised attention.

What do students need to bring to class?

All equipment required for the classes will be provided. Students only need to bring their stationery, a water bottle and a jacket in case the classroom gets cold.

What happens if a student misses a class? Is there a replacement class policy?

Unless the absence is due to medical reasons, parents must email specialprogrammes@thelearninglab.com.sg at least two weeks before the missed class so that replacement arrangements can be made.

Depending on the number of lesson hours missed, your child may attend a replacement class or have their registration transferred to the same course at another location or timing. Replacement classes may be conducted online or in person at Coding Lab’s campuses at KAP Mall or Parkway Parade.

Are there any prerequisites for the coding classes?

Yes. The prerequisites vary by programme, so please review them carefully before registering.

Can a student who has attended a coding class previously still join your coding classes?

Yes. For programmes with prerequisites, the student may be required to complete a placement test so that we can assess their foundational knowledge. As the curriculum offered by other providers may differ, this helps us ensure that each student is placed in the most suitable programme and receives the appropriate level of challenge.

Please email specialprogrammes@thelearninglab.com.sg if you have any questions.

I would like to register, but I cannot confirm a time slot as the school holiday schedule has not been released. What should I do?

We understand that planning your child’s holiday schedule can be challenging. You may register first to secure a place and email us at specialprogrammes@thelearninglab.com.sg.

We will do our best to accommodate requests to change time slots, subject to availability.
