Programme Overview

The P1P2 Our Feathered Friends programme offers students a fun and enriching hands-on learning experience on birds without a trip to the zoo.

The programme combines engaging classroom learning led by dedicated TLL Science teachers with a live bird encounter faciliated by our wildlife education partner, Young Nautilus.

Students have the opportunity to observe and interact with live birds up close.

Through immersive, real-world learning experiences, this programme nurtures curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the diversity and wonder of the animal kingdom.

This programme also aims to develop early interest in the world of science.

Course Outline

In this engaging programme, students will discover the unique characteristics that make birds so remarkable. Through guided activities, they will explore how features such as beaks and feathers are specially adapted to help different birds survive and thrive in their environments.

Students will also be introduced to some of the world’s most fascinating birds — from the fastest flyers to the largest and most unusual species — sparking curiosity and a sense of wonder.

The programme includes a hands-on component where students will observe birds up close, allowing them to identify key features and connect their learning to real-world examples.

By the end of the session, students will gain a deeper understanding of bird characteristics and a greater appreciation for the diversity of the bird world.
