Programme Overview

The P1P2 Little Invertebrate Investigators programme aims to give students a fun and enriching hands-on learning experience on invertebrates without a trip to the zoo, through a classoom experience led by dedicated TLL Science teachers and an exhibit with live insects and worms facilitated by local insect farm, Werms.Inc.

Through immersive, real-world learning experiences, this programme nurtures curiosity and a deeper appreciation for the diversity and wonder of the animal kingdom.

Course Outline

In this engaging programme, students will discover the unique characteristics that make insects so remarkable. Through guided activities, they will explore how features such as feelers, wings and breathing holes, help different insects survive and thrive in different living environments.

Students will also be introduced to some of the most fascinating insects in the world—from the largest to the deadliest and most unusual species—sparking curiosity and a sense of wonder.

The programme includes a hands-on component where students will observe insects and worms in real life, allowing them to identify key features up close and connect their learning to real-world examples. They will also create an insect model.

By the end of the session, students will have a deeper understanding of invertebrate characteristics and an appreciation of the diversity within the animal kingdom.
