Programme Focus

Our Literature Analysis programme equips students with information needed to excel in examinations. Through guided close reading of key extracts, students will explore themes such as power, corruption, equality and manipulation, while examining how Orwell uses language, structure and symbolism to shape meaning and bring characters to life. Students will move beyond surface comprehension to confident interpretation.

Course Outline

As you begin studying Animal Farm, this programme provides a clear and structured roadmap for analysing the text. Each lesson focuses on carefully selected key extracts, guiding you to identify literary techniques, interpret their effects and connect them to broader themes and character development. You will learn to produce detailed, organised annotations that you can refer to when revising for examinations.

An experienced Literature teacher will model how to annotate meaningfully and organise ideas by theme and character.
